  • personal growth is huge. I think that's why network marketing happens to be challenging in the sense that you are your own brand and if you don't know you and you're not happy and comfortable with you, you're never going to be able to sell anything because people can smell that a mile away like a.

Stinking, rotting fish. Like they want somebody who is confident, secure. Uh, they know what they're doing and they know where they're going and that they feel safe that you're going to take them there with you. This is To The Nines podcast. I am your host, Tiffany Wicks, a mom of seven who doesn't subscribe to the idea that you have to choose between your family and career.

I am on a mission to show the stay at home mom who has lost herself in child care and co compelling and the overworked corporate holdout who isn't finding joy and purpose in their career that they can work for themselves making an impact in an income that serves your dreams. life. After leaving my nursing career to raise our family, I needed more mental stimulation, but didn't want to give up the privilege of raising our legacy.

I've been in network marketing now for five years. I know the strategy and mindset it takes to be successful and to live a life aligned with your values and your purpose. Join me as I share my business tips, marketing mistakes, attitude shifts you need to space out some time for you, or. Get your nine to five completely and start working for yourself.

You have the power to change your life. Let's get started. This is just the beginning.

Hey friends, welcome back to the podcast. I had an awesome time in Florida for Thanksgiving and we are rapidly barreling toward Christmas, which also happens to be the time when 17th of December. Uh, that's also my oldest child's. birthday. He came on our anniversary, which was funny because I had made reservations at a restaurant and he wasn't even do until the beginning of January.

So I made reservations for Adam and I. I thought, well, this will probably be our big, our last hurrah before our first baby comes. And sure enough, I went into labor early that morning. And as I'm sitting here holding my brand new son, I was like, Wait, what is today? They're like December 17th. I was like Uh, happy anniversary, Adam.

And he looks down at me and he's like, Oh my gosh, it is. So our oldest son was born on our two year wedding anniversary. So we are preparing for that. I am, if you've watched my Instagram stories, I am going to break my wedding dress out of its box and I'm going to wear it on our anniversary. I don't know if we'll go anywhere or whether I'll just putz around the house in it, but I do plan on.

Snagging my handsome guy for a dance and, um, just twirl around in my dress and maybe let the little girls put it on. And anyway, I'm going to have fun with it because it's been sitting in a box for 18 years and that doesn't make any sense to me. Why have I dragged this thing in a box around the country for 18 years?

Like life's too short. Let's just open it up. Let's just wear it. Let's have fun. All right. So today I want to talk about the, uh, the need for additional income for a lot of families. And I want to tell you more specifically about the profession that I'm in and why I think it is the best one to be in and why it is so accessible and perhaps clear up some misconceptions regarding the career field of network marketing.

So first off. When your uncle Arnie is talking about, you know, the, uh, the dangers and you know, stuff of Amway and whatever circa 1982, like he's confused. He has antiquated opinions, um, antiquated, I think I meant to say antiquated, whoo. Um, and it's not your job to change people's mind, but you can help educate them.

So share this podcast if you need to. So first off pyramid schemes, they are illegal. Okay. That means you have paid for something and received nothing for it. That's not true, especially in my career. You will definitely receive something for it. So within my company, you can earn and outgrow anyone. So if you join with me and you are putting pedal to the metal and.

You know, getting after it and you're, you're not chasing seven kids around and you can bypass my rank in a matter of months and you can out earn me. And you know what? We love it when that happens. There is, there is no like, I'm your boss and you can't bypass where I'm at. That's like a corporate scheme and that's not what we do.

So you can bypass anybody and you can out earn anybody. There is zero cap to earning potential. No lie. No lie, there is no cap. Nowhere in my company does it say you can only earn 40, 000 a month and then you're cut off. You can earn as much as you can build. Next is, I already said that I really think that there's no better career that exists.

And here is why is I don't believe that you will ever 100 percent get to the residual income, which means you do nothing and you just earn income because you're going to have to show up in some way. But the hustle you put in at the beginning is definitely not what it's going to look like on the other side.

So if you can think of it like a bell curve, um, you're going to put in a lot of effort, like, but in reverse, okay, you're going to put in a lot of effort in the beginning. You're going to have to create systems. You're going to have to show up. People are going to have to know what you do. You're going to have to field all the, Oh, you're doing that.

Are you one of those people? Because let's be real here, man. There's a lot of people in our industry that has given network marketing a bad name because they do the, Hey girl. Things in your email, they pretend to be your friend only until they can get a sale and if they can't after their pitch, they're gone again.

You never see them, you know, all that stuff like that's so gross, cringe, that's not what we do. That's not how good network marketers operate anyway. So you can think of it like a reverse bell curve. You're going to put a lot of effort in the beginning so people know what you're doing and you learn what you're doing.

And then your amount of input of effort, your pay is probably not going to be commiserate with that. It's going to be less. I know just hold on here. And then you get to about the middle portion of, okay, I know what I'm doing. I'm consistently marketing. People are buying, I'm growing. Now your pay is commiserate with the amount of effort that you're putting in.

Well, on the other side of that, you will eventually, if you continue. With it, you're going to continue to grow, and then you're going to get to a point where now your effort is minimal and your pay is maximized. You're going to be paid so much more than what you think you ought to have based on the amount of effort you put in.

But that's because you built a team and you have 50, 60, 70, hundreds, thousands of people all pulling on the same rope, and you're able to earn commission. by mentoring them into the business. Now that's where people say you get residual income. Well, it's not truly residual because you do have to still show up for your own business, especially in my company.

Um, you have to sell at least 200 a month to, you know, be commissionable from the people that you have mentored. So it's not 100 percent residual, but it's pretty dang close. All right. Another reason why this. Is such a great opportunity is you have complete autonomy. Okay. Nobody can make you do anything.

You work your own schedule. You work, how you work, when the, what you can even choose the people you work with. So the nine to five, you know, modality doesn't really work anymore. If you don't want it to, you don't have to do the 40 hour work week. Like you can make it 60 hours. You can make it six. So you make it whatever you want.

No lie. This is, this business opportunity is also probably the lowest possible cost of entry. I mean, with our business, I think it's under a hundred bucks now. And you can't open a shop for anything like that. It's all online. I mean, you're, if you're talking about a brick and mortar, it's like 250, 000 just to get started a franchise three, 300, 500, 1, 000, maybe even a million.

I mean, it's ridiculous, but most of these network marketing companies, if you really enjoy the product or enjoy the people that you're going to work with, you can open it for less than a hundred bucks and you can get going. Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, none of them charge you to be on their platform. And everybody knows that there are marketers on those platforms, like that's what it is now.

So there you have it. There is like. Hardly any overhead to it. All right. You don't have any bosses. I already said that you don't have any employees. Your teammates are not your employees. They're just teammates. They're people that you are starting so that they can get that level of autonomy that they're looking for.

So no payroll, no hiring, no firing. Um, you don't have to provide benefits like workman workers, comp insurance, nothing, nothing like that. You are paid on every single dollar, every transaction, everything you do. So you do the work, you get paid. I mean, I think this is the most level. Paying field that there is because you your pay is commiserate and the work that you put in if you're doing good work All right tax benefits.

All right. I was just talking to my kids about taxes the other day and it was they they said Oh my gosh, you know, I want to be super rich so that I don't have to pay taxes and I laughed because I'm like, you're not wrong. The super rich pay almost no taxes. It's the middle class towards the lower class and the very, very lowest earners.

They're not paying any because they're not earning enough. The very, very rich, they're not paying any either because they're very rich. It's the middle. The people who are struggling the most, they're the ones paying the burden of the taxes. You don't even want to know how much my husband and I pay in taxes because we are not super rich and we are not super poor.

We are right there in the, you know, in the further right end of the income stream, but we're definitely making not rich people income yet. With the 1099 tax status, I mean, you can Gosh, there's so many savings that you can do on your day. Like the business kit, that's a write off, auto ship, write off, um, supplies, write off, um, mileage that you drive, write off, marketing materials, the space that you're working in, internet.

I mean, geez, there are so many additions. And renovations to our home that we've been able to use as write offs because it, you know, gets into my quote office space. I mean, you can get to a point where you go from a 1099 to an LLC to an S Corp and, you know, so many other possibilities when it comes to saving at tax time and then expanding that business out.

But that's not where you have to start. All right, you're level. And here's another. really great qualifier here is that your level of education is not a roadblock. You don't have to have a master's. Um, it doesn't even matter. You don't even have to have graduated high school. Um, you have to start when you're, you have to at least be 18.

And in my business you have to at least be 21 because I work in the alcohol industry. But you have fair and equal pay based on your individual performance. Alright, so the opportunity is the same. Male, female, old, young, whatever. It doesn't matter. Black, white, Asian. The playing field is completely level.

And like I said, you are paid commiserate on the work that you do. Do all right. Job security. All right. Downsizing in layoffs right now. It is pervasive. I'm seeing it everywhere and it just simply does not exist in the network marketing industry. You can make an argument that if the Market is topsy turvy, and people aren't spending as much, which they are, even with debt being record highs right now, and, um, the late payment system on credit cards is record highs, people are still spending, which is not your responsibility, um, to regulate who does and does not spend, um, but you are secure in your job with network marketing because there will you're Always be people spending and that are less affected by the market.

So you're safe in a network marketing company, unless your company dissolves, you're completely safe. And you know, there are ways to look for good companies that that is far less likely to happen to. All right. So we talked about residual income. Uh, let's see. Oh, yeah. World class training in entrepreneurship.

Let me see. If I could offer this, I think any business owner or aspiring business owner, the first thing they should do is run a network marketing company. Because if you can run that and grow that well, I think you can do anything. That's why most people In the network marketing profession also have other businesses.

In fact, the network marketing business ends up being the cash cow to opening up other businesses. They don't, most network marketers don't stop with just their business because a, they've proven, I mean, they've gotten multiple touch points of success. And if you can succeed in a network marketing company, you can succeed anywhere in any corporate gig or any other entrepreneurial venture.

Network marketing businesses are also timeless in that you can will your business to somebody else. Okay. So say, unfortunately you pass away, your business is willable. Like you can give your business to your family. If you Google the name Dexter Yeager, okay, dude died in 2019. May God rest his soul. And his family gets around 600, 000 a month from his network marketing business.

That's where the residual part comes in. The dude has passed away and his family is still receiving an insane amount of money because he built this business out so far. All right. I think I already said that you already get tons of amazing training and entrepreneurship. Your own company will teach you mindset, will teach you marketing, will teach you interpersonal communication skills, soft skills, hard skills, everything that you need to know about running a business and be your specific business, your company will teach you and granted, a lot of us go out and you know, we get kinds of all kinds of other education just to augment that, but they will train you for free on demand readily available.

That is Amazing. I mean, Chick fil A does the same thing, but you know what? You got to show up to an office for Chick fil A and you don't have to do that here. Um, I do love the company though. All right. So community you get to get coaching from across all lines and you may have heard me say this before.

My side teammates, my downline teammates, my upline, they are all technically competitors with me because we're all in the same online space, but we all don't, Like grab the same market share, right? so the people who want to buy from me because I'm unique are not the same people that are gonna want to buy from a Dude who's a football player in my company because they're like I don't align with you I don't have anything in common with you.

I have something in common with her or vice versa. So We are all competitors in that we're selling the same thing. We're all offering the same opportunity to grow in the online space with a network marketing business, but none of us are truly in competition with each other. We take time to train. We speak on conferences, we go to conferences where we're all in community and you guys, I have some of my best friends are all within my company and I love it.

All right, personal growth. That's what this podcast mostly is about. Mindset shifting, growing personally. I'm getting more familiar with who you are so that you can offer that to other people in this world and just create a better space in your little corner of the Internet. Um, but personal growth is huge.

I think that's why network marketing happens to be challenging in the sense that You are your own brand, and if you don't know you and you're not happy and comfortable with you, you're never gonna be able to sell anything because people can smell that a mile away like a stinking, rotting fish. Like they want somebody who is confident, secure.

They know what they're doing, and they know where they're going, and they feel safe that you're gonna take them there with you. Okay? The personal growth opportunity here, and if you're in the industry, you've heard this a hundred times, but it's true. This business opportunity is pretty much personal growth journey with a compensation plan attached to it.

You have to grow in social skills and be a great presenter. You have to reinvent yourself and morph into the very best version of who you were always meant to be. And you will get to the highest level of competence in this business if you allow yourself. Alright, so what about your family? Well, your kids and your family are always welcome to be part of your business.

Have you, do you follow an account right now? That they have like 18 kids and they're all jumping around and doing zooms together. Or zooms, jeez, reels. They're doing reels together. Like that's, those are the kids that are being involved in their parents business and mine are to a small degree, but they weren't raised in it, right?

I mean, the younger ones are, but the older ones aren't. So they're a little bit different with social media stuff, but zoom calls, you can take those from anywhere. You can be bouncing a kid on your lap. I have done a ton of zoom calls. In fact, if you, have you seen my Insta where I've got videos of me doing interviews for the podcast where I've got a baby, I've got our baby.

Multiple times, like throughout the years, I've had two babies since having my network marketing business where I've been breastfeeding them while I'm doing a podcast interview or while I'm doing a Zoom presentation. Nobody can tell me I can't, but they're, they're part of what I do and I wouldn't separate them.

And besides, I'm teaching them entrepreneurship firsthand. I'm showing them how to struggle and how to struggle well in order to reap the benefits. There you go. That was a lot that I just gave you. If you've ever considered the network marketing industry as something that you might want to get into, but you still have.

If you have questions, um, or concerns, I mean, honestly, there's nothing to be concerned about per se. It's always just generally what other people think about you is where, is, is what holds you up. So let me know what they are. I mean, DM me, let me know. You can email the podcast at totheninespodcast at gmail.

com. I almost forgot. My own podcast email address. Listen, I don't email myself very often, so didn't really remember that. But I respond quickly to Instagram, although I do not have alerts on my phone. I still haven't done that because when I want to be on Instagram, I want to be on. And when I want to be off, I want to be off.

That helps me be more present to my family. And speaking of presence, I'm I've got one kid sitting over my shoulder here on the left side, and they're all asking me for something. So, I am going to go, and, um, I will see you next time my friends. Have a great day. If you're not already following me on Instagram, get there.

Tiffany L Wicks. I am also on Facebook at Tiffany Wicks and LinkedIn by the same name. If you want to know more about what I do, please hit me up over there. I have a little video that I'll send to you in a little info sheet and I would love to help you reach your full potential coming this new year.
